I’m excited to come to you the 1st of each month with some fun projects highlighting a variety of topics, techniques, and Stampin’ Up! Specials!

For this month the theme is Gratitude.

I wanted to create something that could be used to give to others to show my gratitude with a little treat. I saw a few other crafty stampers create these super cute gift card holders, and I am grateful they did – because I loved it so much and I wanted to use that design they shared! I believe the original card came from Patty Bennett. It’s so nice that we can all share our cards and ideas with each other!

Here is the design I came up with based on what I saw:

The sentiment used is from the Beautiful Autumn set – which doesn’t need to be only for Autumn!

I created it in traditional red/green Christmas colors with the idea it can be used during the holiday giving time. But it really can be used for any season!

I used the same Designer Series Paper and turned it over for the backside pattern, and created a second one!

You can mix and match patterns, switch out colors, or even the stamp used. I used the coffee cup so I could put a coffee shop gift card in it.

To make the card fold up correctly, start with the base of 8.5″ x 5.5″, and instead of folding in half at 4.25″, score at 1.75″ and 5.75″.

This will give it just a little bit of an overlap, where you can make a notch that is hidden when closed.  You can use the smallest circle in the Circle Dies for this.

Glue up the short sides of the small flap so you can slip in a gift card.
