We BEE Stamping Team Blog Hop – Sharing a Technique
October 1, 2020
Welcome to the We BEE Stamping Team Blog Hop!!!
I’m excited to come to you the 1st of each month with some fun projects highlighting a variety of topics, techniques, and Stampin’ Up! Specials!
For this month we are each Sharing a Technique! I have selected a bit of embossing, using the Emboss Resist Technique, or you can even call it the Joseph’s Coat Technique.
For mine, I started out with some fall colors that I sponged onto White card stock with sponge daubers. Using more ink is better here, you want bright dark colors.
Next I stamped the tree over the colors. Then I stamped the leaves in Versamark and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.
Tip – I think next time I would emboss the leaves first, then stamp the tree.
Then I sponged Night of Navy all over the leaves, and a few lighter blues towards the bottom.
The darker you make the blue, the more the colors pop from the background.
Here it is completed with the layers in coordinating colors:
I love how this turned out. I used the Soft Suede Blends Marker to fill in some of the branches between the leaves after I sponged the Navy, to make them show up a bit better.
For the sentiment, I heat embossed the Hello in white on Cherry Cobbler and cut around it. The Holiday Rhinestones and Copper Trim give it some additional sparkle.
I hope you like this and it inspires you to get out your fun colors and start embossing!
Here are all the supplies I used for this today:
Stamps: Life Is Beautiful
Card Stock/Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
