Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Dark and Stormy Night

Welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Thanks for making it over to my blog! Each month we’ll have a different theme, and this month it’s “It Was a Dark and Stormy Night”.

That always makes me think of Snoopy writing on his doghouse and I can picture that sky….

I took the idea of that dark sky, and added some empty trees (is that a thing?) and created this night sky card for you:

I love blending a bunch of colors together since you get different results each time – they are all unique!

I started with the lighter colors, then added in a darker color, then another, and so on. I even used a bit of black on the sky.

The main trees are stamped once in black, then again with the craft white ink over it. It makes it look like it has a shadow if you offset it just a slight bit.

I also wanted to give it some shine so I added in some metallic foil and the fun pearls.

Since the colors in the scene don’t exactly scream “happy thoughts”, I figured I could be a bit snarky and add the “good day” sentiment. I mean, some people like that kind of weather!

This was a fun card to make and stay tuned for my winter version of this card!

Here are the supplies I used:

Stamps: Snow Front, Pallet Thoughts

Card Stock/Paper: Night of Navy, White, Vellum, Brushed Metallic Foil

Inks: Memento Black, Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Craft White

Accessories: Iridescent Pearls

I hope you’ve enjoyed this card, and don’t forget to hop through the rest of today’s entries and leave us some nice notes!
