Fancy Folds – Cascading Display Card

Thanks for joining us this month! We’re hopping all over the world with some fun cards. It’s time for the new Fancy Fold for this month – a Cascading Display Card!

This is another fantastic card to display on your table! It may seem like a lot to start with, but it really is much simpler than it looks when you type it out!

I’ll get you started with all the pieces you will need:

  • Base:
    • 4-1/8″ x 9-1/2″  (green)
      • Score these 1″ and 2″ from each end
      • Trim out the top corner, about 1″ down from the top to the 1st score line, then diagonally up to the top of the second score line (see picture for reference)
    • 4″ x 5-3/8″  (white)
  • Middle panels, need 2 of each:
    • 2-3/4″ x 3-5/8″  (green)
    • 2-1/2″ x 3-3/8″  (DSP)
  • Front Panels, need 2 of each:
    • 2-1/4″ x 3-1/8″  (green)
    • 2″ x 2-7/8″  (white)
  • Z-fold piece (to attach panels), need 2:
    • 2-1/2″ x 3″  (green)
    • Score at 3/4″ and 1-3/4″ on the shorter side

Here are the green pieces once I had them all scored and cut:

You will glue the z-fold pieces onto the flaps of the base. This is just an extender to make the base a little longer.

This next picture shows you where they end up (the pink lines):

The next step is to glue all the panels on. Just line up all the bottom edges (so it stands flat) and the outside edges (so it folds up nice) when gluing them down.

Here is what it will look like all glued together, and opened up:

You can fold it up a bit, and stand it up like this:

This is me doing my best to hold it closed with one hand while taking a picture of it with the other!

I love how it turned out! Right now, all the trees around us here in Ohio are about this color, too. It’s my favorite time of the year!

I decided to use a few different products, mix-and-match really, to get the autumn vibe. The gems mix in with the falling leaves to give it more sparkle.

If you need more room to write, you can always add a second white panel to the back, too.

I hope you like this and take a few minutes to make one yourself!

Here are the supplies I used:

Stamps:  Hello Harvest, Beauty of Friendship

Card Stock/Paper: Shaded Spruce, White, Celebrate Everything DSP

Inks: Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede

Accessories:  Fine Sparkle Adhesive Backed Gems, Sponge Daubers,
