Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Anything But A Card
November 6, 2020
Welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop!
Thanks for making it over to my blog! Each month we’ll have a different theme, and this month it’s “Anything But a Card”.
I tend to make a lot more cards than non-cards… but I knew what I wanted to do for this one. Until I couldn’t find my supplies!
So instead of one type of treat holder I was going to make…I made a different one – I made mini gift bags!
These each started out with two 6″ x 6″ pieces of DSP. This is a great way to use up some of that stash you have!!
You can use any designs – flowers for birthdays or holiday papers for Christmas! I love this bag because you can see both sides of the paper.
You can tie the ribbon on the outside or the inside, and you can fold the corners or not. There are so many options you can choose.
It’s a great size for some candy treats, or even a gift card with a bit of tissue paper.
To make it, start with two 6×6 pieces of DSP. Score the top of each at 1″. This part folds down. Then, score each of the other three sides at 1.5″.
Part of the bottom score lines where they cross each other get snipped to make two flaps. These will fold up to make one half of the bag.
On one piece, cut only the flap (blue line). On the other piece, cut that corner square out completely (green and blue lines).
The two halves will get glued to each other along the bottom and sides to form the full bag.
I don’t have my own video showing how to do this… but if one is needed – just comment and I will work on getting one created for this!
Here are the supplies I used:
Stamps: Warm Hugs (Bundle)
Card Stock/Paper: Mossy Meadow, Misty Moonlight, White, Heartwarming Hugs DSP, Flowers For Every Season DSP Stack
Inks: Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizzazz, Misty Moonlight, Rococo Rose
Cut & Emboss Machine items: Warm Wraps Dies (Bundle)
Accessories: Misty Moonlight Ribbon, Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack, Dimensionals
I hope you’ve enjoyed this project, and don’t forget to hop through the rest of today’s entries and leave us some nice notes!
