Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Harvest Moon

Welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Thanks for making it over to my blog! Each month we’ll have a different theme, and this month it’s “Harvest Moon”.

This is perfect timing, as there was just a full moon this week! So, I decided to make a giant full moon for my card.

I went back into the Annual catalog and pulled out the Mountain Air stamps, knowing there was a moon in there – but it was too small for what I wanted.

Out came the sticky notes, and I made my own moon. I punched a circle for the moon as a mask, and sponged a bunch of fall colors until I liked it.

What do you think?

I used a bit of Crushed Curry before I covered up the moon, then after all the other colors were added, I added some white to the moon. I even added the reflection in the water.

Funny story about the water. I wanted it to sparkle… so to the Wink of Stella I went! Well, the Wink of Stella went too, and went, and went, and went, all over the bottom of the paper.

I tried to wipe it off, and the paper came with it! Hence, another layer of tree silhouettes. All fixed.

I love the vellum clouds over the moon. Fall colored skies always look nice with clouds.

Since I didn’t want to cover up too much of the scene with a large sentiment or lots of embellishments, I just went for a super small stamp in the Pallet Thoughts set. It fit perfect.

Here are the rest of the supplies I used:

Stamps: Mountain Air (Bundle), Pallet Thoughts

Card Stock/Paper: Black, White, Thick White (for the base), Vellum

Inks: Memento Black, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Misty Moonlight, Craft White

Cut & Emboss machine items: Majestic Mountain Dies (Bundle),

Accessories: Wink of Stella, Dimensionals, 1 1/2″ Circle Punch

I hope you’ve enjoyed this card, and don’t forget to hop through the rest of today’s entries and leave us some nice notes!
