Fancy Folds – Buckle Card

Hi folks!  Thanks for joining us this month! We’re hopping all over the world with some fun cards. It’s time for the new Fancy Fold for this month – the Buckle Card!

I had a lot of fun making this one. It was new to me, and I hope I did it the right way!

Here is the front of the card, looking pretty just as it is –

I used the products in the Peaceful Poppies Suite for the flower dies and the lovely Designer Series Paper inside. I also used the So Sentimental Bundle for the sentiment and stitched label. I colored some Rhinestones with my Stampin Blends to add sparkle to match the shine of the paper. The shiny gold striped DSP is from the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper that you can earn for FREE through Sale-A-Bration.

Here’s the fancy part!  There is a tab that slips in like a belt buckle to close the card! Here it is with the card open –

I used the Classic Label Punch to create the opening for the tab. Here is a view from the bottom so you can see how it slips in.

I didn’t want to leave the buckle piece all by itself so I added my flowers right to it! They are the pieces sticking up a bit in the picture.
The alternative would be to glue them right to the front of the card on the gold stripes. I think it would like nice either way!
