I’m excited to come to you the 1st of each month with some fun projects highlighting a variety of topics, techniques, and Stampin’ Up! Specials!

For this month the theme is Season of Giving!

Everyone loves to give presents, as well as receive them! But not everyone always has an idea as to what that perfect gift may be. Especially if you have teenagers around!

Here’s one solution for you! This is a quick and simple way to give the gift just about teenager can use.. money.

This is a cute money or check holder that still has the personal touch while allowing the receiver to get their perfect gift.

The ribbon is holding it closed, and you can just slide it down a little to open the flap. Inside it’s the perfect size to hold checks or U.S. currency!

You could make it a little wider if you wanted to fill it with LOTS of bills, but this version is sized for just a few, and works great for 6×6 DSP you want to use up, too!

Here’s how to create the holder;

• start with a piece of cardstock 9″ tall x 7.25″ wide
• score at 2.75″ up from the bottom, and 2.75″ down from the top
• score down each side at .5″
  • cut a portion of that .5″ score line off, leaving the flaps at the bottom (see picture below)
  • you can angle the cuts to make neater tabs
• fold on score lines
• put adhesive on tabs and close to make a pocket

That’s it! Last is just decorating.

I did cut off the edges of the flaps for a decorative touch before I glued on the front decorations.

Use DSP and embellishments to cover the front flap and inside the envelope.

For the DSP – use 2 pieces of 6″ x 2.5″. If you make it a little wider, just add a little to the DSP, too.

You could adapt this to any occasion, not just the holidays.  I hope this comes in handy for you!
