Fancy Folds – Double Flap Card

Thanks for joining us this month! We’re hopping all over the world with some fun cards. It’s time for the new Fancy Fold for this month – a Double Flap Card!

This is a great card for multiple sentiments. It’s a mini card on top of a card! This is a link to the video that inspired this creation.

Here’s what the front looks like when it is all closed up, and tied with a bow. I love all the soft colors that go together with this one.

I’m also previewing some of the new products that will be available in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! catalog. There are so many fun new products, I can hardly wait!

Here’s when you open the first section, the mini card. This is a great place to put a second sentiment or image.

Then, open up the next flap (the bottom of the mini card).

The mini card is just glued right on top of the flap, with the ribbon tucked behind it first.

This is the inside of the standard size card. I kept it simple with just a few images in the colors of the cardstock and ribbon.

Taking a closer look at the front, I finished it off with some shiny embellishments, some of the new In Color dots.

Here are some measurements for the bases of the card and mini-card –

• Main card base (US measurements) of 10″ x 5.5″.
  • Score at 4.25″ (so you get a standard card size)
  • Score again at 8.5″ for the flap, or you can just fold over the extra to make the flap with no measuring
• For the mini card, cut a long rectangle that you can fold in half
  • I used a piece 7″ x 3″  (the video I referenced used 7″ x 3.5″ to make a square)
  • You can really use any size rectangle you wish, just decide how big you want the card to be on the front, and double the length
• For the layering pieces, make each layer 1/8″ smaller than the base it sits on
  • you can make 1 or 2 layers for each section of the card
