Fancy Folds – Diamond Flip Fold
February 17, 2023
Thanks for joining us this month! We’re hopping all over the world with some fun cards. It’s time for the new Fancy Fold for this month – a Diamond Flip Fold Card!
This is fun for me because the inspiration we are using this month comes from someone in my stamp family! Check out Linda’s video here.
I was happy to follow this one, as it’s fun and not too difficult at all!
Here is the cute front so you know what we are going for. You can see multiple designs of paper, and the diamond moves when you open it.
Here is the base cardstock to use for it –
- Use a standard half sheet of cardstock (US measurements) of 11″ x 4.25″.
- Score in half as usual (5.25″).
- Then, make an additional score line from the edge at 2 1/8″.
- Make a pencil mark halfway up the side, at 2 1/8″, and cut the corners off – going from the score line to the pencil mark.
The flap is the front. Close the card and flip just the little flap back open. This is where I added a die cut square to it with the gnome. Be sure to only put adhesive on one half of the back that will stick to the flap.
I also added an additional square inside the card that fits right under the front square/diamond when it’s closed.
You can use so many different designer papers to fill in the blank spaces based on your main design. I used the front and back sides of the same paper in this case. I thought it was so cute with the flowers and pretty colors to go with the gnome.
I colored the gnome and flowers that I stamped based on the colors in the DSP.
I hope you find this one fun and take a few minutes to make one yourself!
