Fancy Folds – Double Dutch Fold

Thanks for joining us this month! We’re hopping all over the world with some fun cards. It’s time for the new Fancy Fold for this month – a Double Dutch Fold!

This is a great fold for beginners, as there are not too many steps to create it.

Here is what it looks like standing up on its own.

I used a standard half sheet of cardstock (4.25″ x 11″) and folded it in half. Then I cut off the bottom 2″ on one side.

To make the gates on the bottom, I used a sheet 2″ x 8.5″ plus a little bit.
Note – If you just use the 8.5″ length, and then fold it around the base, it doesn’t quite meet all the way in the middle.
You can just wrap it around the bottom and cut off the extra, or you can cut and score it first, with scores near the 2 1/8″ mark from each end. It works either way!

If you fold it flat, you can see the bottom gate meets in the middle.

To decorate this one, I love these flowers cut from the Designer Paper. I wanted them to be the focus, so I used white for the background, and only stamped a few leaves at the bottom.

The Layering Diorama dies for the black frame are perfect to give it a bit more interest than a straight rectangle or circle.

The finishing touches on the front are the lovely Glossy Dots that are so shiny.

Opened up, you can see I decorated the inside by stamping off first to get a much lighter ink color.
