Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Last Minute Holiday Gifts

Welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Thanks for making it over to my blog! Each month we’ll have a different theme, and this month it’s “Last Minute Christmas or Boxing Day Gift Ideas”

When I think of last minute gifts, I think of something easy to pull together. Hopefully you aren’t there just yet – needing last minute gifts, but if you ever do get there… here’s a cute idea!

I created this adorable and easy to make box for a lotion bottle that I’m sure anyone would love. The colors even coordinate!

I love the color theme for this one, and the sparkle on the paper goes great with the sparkle on the snowflake!

Here’s the lotion bottle next to the box.

This is how it goes inside, a perfect fit!

To make this one, I sized it specifically for the lotion. It’s a basic “2-4-6-8 box” template – just don’t score all the corners, only two of them so you can pinch the top flat.

I started with a piece of DSP 8.5″ x 10″  – the 10 ” was for the height of the bottle. It’s 8″ tall with 2″ that turn out to be the bottom flap.

Place your paper so the 10″ is at the bottom. Score at 2″ up from the bottom.

Turn it sideways and along the 8.5″ side, score every 2″ – But only some go all the way up the paper, the others only go up to that 2″ mark.

– You score at 2″ just to the mark, 4″ all the way, 6″ just to the mark, 8″ all the way. You end up with a 1/2″ flap at the end to glue the sides together.

You will turn these 2″ square sections into flaps by cutting on the score lines up from the bottom to that 2″ line.

Close up the sides and fold over the bottom flaps – and secure with your favorite strong adhesive. Tear & Tape works great.

I hope you enjoyed this and it inspired you to make some gift boxes, too!
