Fancy Folds – Interactive Wiper Card

Thanks for joining us this month! We’re hopping all over the world with some fun cards. It’s time for the new Fancy Fold for this month – the Interactive Wiper Card!

There are several variations of this card, and I chose to make the version that has a surprise pop up in the middle of the card instead of popping out the top of the card. Both are equally as fun, it’s just a preference as to which you want to make!

Here’s what the front looks like all closed up, super cute and simple, in some brand new In-Colors!

And when you flip over the back, you get some colorful flowers to go with your note –

Now, here’s the fun “wiper” part of the card… it’s a surprise that pops up like a car’s windshield wiper from the inside of the card –

Ta-da!  Super fun flowers pop up in the card when you pull the sides!

It turns out it’s actually easier to make this than I thought.  You can also search online for a bunch of different sizes and videos to see all the variations.
You can pick from these different versions, but the one I did here had these sizes, just based on trial and error.

Card base size: 8.5″ x 4.25″
Front piece: 8.5″ x 2.5″    – this can be any size for the height (2.5), it just depends on how much you want to show or hide.

Score both at 1.5″ and 3″.     Fold them into two “Z” folds.

Use a scrap piece for the inside mechanism – I used a 1″ by almost 2.5″.   You just want the long side to be a little less than the front height.

Fold the corner over, and that little triangle is the part that gets glued down.

Here’s the inside all flat once the pieces are glued down, and has the flowers on it, before sealing up the card –

Here’s the flower folded down –

Then, the folded up Z fold gets folded up and glued to the base –

Here’s a view from the top to see the inside –

This was a fun one and there are so many possibilities to have fun surprises pop up from your card.
