Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Summer Parties
June 12, 2020
Welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop!
Thanks for making it over to my blog! Each month we’ll have a different theme, and this month it’s “Summer Parties”
Several thoughts come to mind for a summer party, but what I decided on was the type of gathering I’ve been missing while we are all staying home these days – a poker night!
Yep, that’s my kind of party. A bunch of friends hanging out and playing some friendly poker.
It turns out Stampin’ Up! even has a stamp set for that! I knew I had to get it as soon as I saw it. So, here is what I made for you today –
I love this one. It’s the Game On stamp set. I paired it up with some black, red, and gold for a regal look.
Here are the supplies I used:
Stamps: Game On
Card Stock/Paper: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Basic Black, Gold Foil
Inks: Real Red, Black Memento, Smokey Slate
Accessories: Subtle Embossing Folder, Die Cut Machine, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack, Red Rhinestones, Dimensionals
A few notes on creating this –
I fussy cut a black layer around the playing cards to make them stand out a bit more. For the background, I stamped the Smokey Slate off twice, then onto the card stock to get an extra light color. I then added the texture with the Subtle embossing folder.
I hope you like it and it inspires you to play a few games at your next party!
Don’t forget to hop through the rest of our entries today and leave us some nice notes!

Happy Stamping!

Fun card MaryAnn! I would have to say, my son’s would love this card – they play poker with their cousins at our family retreat each year at the cottage. I LOVE how you fussy cut the black layer around the cards.
