Fancy Folds Teepee Fold

Hi folks!  Thanks for joining us this month! We’re hopping all over the world with some fun cards. It’s time for the new Fancy Fold for this month – the Teepee Fold Card!

Hopefully everyone is hanging in there! Let’s all just enjoy our time and do some crafting. 🙂

For today, I’ve never made this style card before, so I got to learn something new! Not only is it super fun, it was not complicated either!
First I had to pick some stamps and paper to work with. I decided since it’s the start of spring here in the States, I wanted to go in the flower direction.

I could not make up my mind on which suite of products to use, so I did a little mixing and matching!
I’ll show the final product first so you get an idea of how it all comes together in the end as I describe it.

Here is my result of all my craft-mixing –

Cute, huh? The teepee is so easy to make. There are a few different ways to make it, so this is just one way.
I started with my Black base card stock measuring 8″ x 4″.  I also had a second piece of 4″ x 4″.
Score the large piece in half to make two squares, then score along the diagonals as in the picture here:

Then, align the two pieces up as this picture:

Lastly, glue the smaller piece on top of the larger piece by overlapping them as shown here:

Then, just decorate!  This is what it looks like after I decorated mine, laying it flat:

To get the brightly colored flowers I wanted, I used some of the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper. It uses Lovely Lipstick and Petal Pink, with Old Olive leaves. I actually got is as part of the paper stack that you can get for free when you join my team! I’m glad I do have that stack, because it has some cute designs in there that I would not have originally picked for myself!

For the triangles, I cut the pieces just a bit smaller than the 4 x 4 square, then along the diagonal.

I also liked the flower and leaves in the Forever Blossoms Bundle. I die cut and colored them with some Stampin’ Blends in matching colors and added rhinestones and Wink of Stella.

I used the Label Me Fancy Punch with a sentiment from Peaceful Moments. You could use any sentiment you want here. There is a piece of the Polka Dot ribbon under the label, popped up on some dimensionals.

Since my craft area seems to have eaten my little magnet pieces I thought I had… I had to improvise to close it.
To get it to lay flat to mail, or put in an envelope, it would need to open up – so I couldn’t glue it shut permanently.
Instead, I used a glue dot on one side and on the other side I secured a circle of wax paper so the glue dot would not permanently stick. It works for now!
This is what it looked like when you fold it in half –

Here is another view from the top when assembled:

I hope everyone gives this a try, it was not too difficult, and it is so pretty when it stands up on the table!
