Global Stamping Friends Hop – Love
February 2, 2018
Hi everyone!
It’s time for the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, and it really is global!! This hops around every month on the first Friday. There are folks all around the world joining this, so please take a look at all the fun stuff people have to share. Each month is a different theme, and this month it’s Love!!
When I think of this theme, I think of lots and lots hearts, and of course the color red… With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, that’s pretty easy to do. So I thought, why not challenge myself a little and work outside of the box to create something a little different! I still stayed within that theme, and completely fell in love with the card I came up with, funny, huh?
Here’s my creation for this one:
Super fun and playful, and subtle enough that it shouldn’t scare anyone away. 🙂
I used the Bird Banter set, which is in the Occasions Catalog. I didn’t even realize it has the cutest little heart in there! That’s what I used to make sure it stayed with the Love theme. I stamped them in Cherry Cobbler, then filled them in with Wink of Stella. It pulled a bit of color in to make it a little pink. I really like how it turned out.
Here’s a close up of the Wink of Stella, which is on the parrot, too!
The parrot is colored with a whole bunch of Blends! I just started on one end of the color spectrum, and kept going! They are so fun to work with. I fussy cut him out so he stood out from the leaves behind him. The Lemon Lime Twist branch is from the Petals & More Thinlits, which I can’t seem to get away from, I am so happy with that suite of products, and keep using them!
The Layered Leaves embossing folder is used twice to give the background some texture. The circles use the Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles framelits.
Such a fun card and I can’t wait to make a few more birds to color! I hope you liked this one and I hope you enjoy hopping through the rest of today’s Blog Hop! Click the “Next” arrow to continue on, or click on any of the names below if you get lost or want to hop around.
