Watercoloring A Sara Thing with Paper Pumpkin
April 24, 2017
Hey folks!!
For all you crafty Paper Pumpkin folks out there… Did you SEE the April Paper Pumpkin?? WOW! I just loved it! For those non-Paper Pumpkin folks out there (you know who you are)… holy cow you need to see what you were missing. 🙂
The kit comes with 3 different card designs, but I only have one for you right now because I was drawn to the geometric-flower-block design with all the bright colors. It’s a piece of watercolor paper, with a clear embossed design on it. You can use the watercolor pencils (which came in the kit) to color the paper, and overlap a little as you go. It’s actually quite simple. The harder you press, the darker the color will be. This is what that looks like:
Then, you use the cute little paintbrush that comes with it, and just brush a bit of water over the blocks. My tip is to stay on the dryer side.. don’t use too much water otherwise it will all just run the colors together. This is what it turns out like with only 4 colors, overlapping to create the other colors:
I was so excited by this card, I didn’t even get out my background paper to take the pics! Once I put it all together on the nifty black paper, stamped the sentiment (which is Sara’s actual handwriting!!), added some washi tape and the adorable glittery flower… it comes together like so:
All of this was in the kit! I hope you like this one. It’s probably one of my favorite Paper Pumpkin kits ever!
Just fyi – there are only refills available out in my store right now <click here to get to it> – so you won’t be able to get the stamp set that goes with it, but if you get the refill, you are always welcome to come over and borrow my stamps. 🙂 Remember, you must be a subscriber to be able to order refills! Contact me if you have any questions on it, or need help signing up!
I’m including the link to the video by Sara, the CEO of Stampin’ Up! This is pretty cool because it walks through everything – which is not usually done like this. In case you were not familiar with it, there is a quick video each month revealing the contents, and lots of online resources for alternative projects!
Let me know if you have any questions, or need to order anything! Keep an eye out next week for the monthly Blogging Friends Blog Hop on the 1st, where we will feature retiring products.. and I’ll have a few more things to share about that between now and then! Thanks for stopping by!
