Embossed Rose Wonder Card

Hi folks!

I’m pretty excited for my Spring Flowers class this weekend!  I want to show you another sample of the cuteness my fellow stampers will be enjoying.

This simple and elegant design came from the land of the internet, and I thought it would be a great addition to my class.  I originally saw it created by Tina Rappe, also a crafty demonstrator,  and I am glad she shared it!

It uses the biggest rose from the Rose Wonder photoploymer stamp set. You’ll need the largest clear acrylic block for this one.. no trying to scooch (skooch? it’s a technical term) this on to one of the smaller ones.
Ink it up with Versamark (the clear sticky ink) and stamp it on the Whisper White cardstock.  I lined it up pretty close to the left edge, so I could have room to fit in my sentiment. But, don’t worry if you use a larger saying and can’t fit your sentiment there, you can always turn the card 90 degrees, and stamp it that way! Poof – instantly more room!

I heat embossed it with the White embossing powder and made sure it was cool.  Then, I took my sponge daubers in Cherry Cobbler and Mellow Moss to rub circles of color inside the rose and leaves. Start in the middle and work your way out. It will get lighter as you work around, and you can always go back and add more color to make it darker.  After you are done sponging the ink all over, use a tissue to wipe off the extra ink from the embossed lines. It whitens them up a little, and will keep your hands a bit cleaner later!
Add your sentiment, with the card facing either direction. Then, a single layer of the Mellow Moss behind the White helps define the space,
