Valentine Treats for School

Valentine’s Day is this weekend, which means it’s also time for parties in school.
Being a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator has it’s perks right around now, since that means I have PLENTY of supplies for creating something for the kiddo to take to school. In past years, I’ve used My Digital Studio to design a card, and printed them out.  This year, I saw the cutest thing.. My wonderful roomie from Leadership, Lisa, made a cute little box from our Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper stack, filled them with glow sticks and added a tag using stamps from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs!

It was so cute, I was sure it would be a hit for this year’s treat, so the planning began…   I tend to use my retired consumables when it comes to mass producing items the kids are just going to rip right through… so my Season of Style DSP stack from last year was perfect!  It had the Cherry Cobbler striped paper, and that went great with the tag in One Tag Fits All.  Also from that stamp set, I separated the sentiment from the light string stamp, and then paired it up with the light bulb from the SAB set, You Brighten My Day. I punched it out with the coordinating Note Tag Punch.
There was a group effort involved in the coloring… some by the kiddo, some by the hubby.  Such helpers.  🙂
Throw in some ribbons for hubby to tie it together, and voila!!  Thank you Lisa for this wonderful idea! I’m sure the kiddos will have fun with these.

One thing I did that was out of the ordinary for me was use the Stamp-a-ma-jig. I have had one for years and years, and it’s the best tool, but I tend to be one of the folks that just ‘eyeball’ it, and never worry about lining things up perfectly. In this case though, it was completely worth it.  Here are some pics from that process:

Can you imagine just guessing for all of these? I’d have a lot of re-stamping to do.

I hope everyone finds these as cute as I did,
Enjoy!Mak

  • LOVE them Maryann! They came out adorable and I’m sure they will be a HUGE hit today! (and the moms will thank you for a non-candy treat!) Makes me wish my kids were still little! So happy I could offer a little inspiration!
