Flowers for PCCCS127

Another day, another challenge!   Here’s one from the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge #127.  This is a cute sketch, but I chose to keep the standard rectangle card shape instead of a square. I could have easily left this one square and made a cute matching envelope out of DSP.. but I’ll save that for next time!  Here’s the inspiration for this one:

Here is my take on this sketch:

I like how this turned out. I used one of the techniques highlighted a few weekends ago in the class I went to… Blendabilities with embossing.  It’s a neat way to get colors to pop on dark card stock. I used white embossing on black card stock, then colored the flowers from “Butterfly Basics” with the Blendabilities Markers.
I actually have a few mixed colors here…  There are Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake, Black, and Old Olive papers. The sentiment – which is from the stamp set “From the Herd” – is embossed with black on Vellum.
Then, the ribbons are the Stitched Satin In Colors: Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow. It shows you don’t always have the use the exact same colors for the paper and embellishments!
The circles are cut from the Circles Framelits and the 2 1/2″ punch.
To top it off, I’ve tied a bow out of the Linen Thread, and added some Candy Dots (in this case they are Always Artichoke) in the corner. I’ve colored a Rhinestone with the Rich Razzleberry Blendability marker and added it to the center of the flower.

Enjoy!
Mak
