Happy Monday – Eat Cake
December 8, 2014
Hey everyone! Happy Monday… Hopefully it’s going well for everyone!
In a previous post I mentioned new catalogs… yep, NEW catalogs. I had the pleasure of going to the Stampin’ Up! Catalog Kickoff last week and it was so much fun! We got to hang out with fellow stampers, see both the new Occasions Catalog AND the new Sale-a-Bration Catalog that will be coming out in a few weeks. AND, we all got a FREE stamp set from the new catalog! How neat is that? Some lucky door prize winners even got another stamp set!!
With all that excitement, I wanted to share a quick and simple card that I made using that new set: One Tag Fits All. It coordinates with the Note Tag Punch, which is also in the catalog!
I think this little cake slice is so cute. I landed on this idea for the first post out of the new sets, because if you take out the candle, it kinda looks like the piece of cheesecake I had before the Catalog Kickoff!! mmmmm… cheesecake…..but mine was red, not blue!
For this card, I used the new set and stamped the cake all over the Baked Brown Sugar paper, then added a layer of vellum over it. The DSP with the little stars all over it is from the Holiday Catalog, Motley Monsters. The Note Tag Punch cuts out what you see in white. I stamped the tag again on Bermuda Bay then fussy cut it so I had a layered look. The cake and the sentiment are actually one stamp and they fit in the tag… but I wanted to use them separately. It’s like 3 stamps in one!
The sentiment is stamped in Black Memento ink, then I sprinkled Clear embossing powder over it and heated it up.. to give it shine. Add some more shine with Rhinestones and Dazzling Details, and your easy card is done!
Stay tuned for more new samples this week!
